IT-MFRP: How do I sign up for My Family Room?

How do I sign up for My Family Room?
How to Sign Up!

Anyone can register for a My Family Room account, once your account is created, students are linked to it at the discretion of the student’s School Office Staff. It is at the discretion of the school Principal to determine if a parent who is acting In Loco Parentis are eligible to be linked to a student.  

You can self-register for a My Family Room account by following these steps:  

   1.  Visit https://myfamilyroom.ca/
   2.  Click on the SIGN UP button
   3.  Choose to sign up with a Social Media account or using an email address and password (UCDSB
        staff email address’ are not allowed)
   4.  Click on the SIGN UP button when done
 
Social Media
If you chose a Social Media button to login you will be prompted to:
  -  Register a child
  -  Add a child to your account
  -  Go to your My Family Room account     

Custom Authentication
If you chose to create a custom authentication account using your personal email and password you will need to:
  -  Complete account registration by clicking on activation link in email sent to the email address you  provided (email should arrive within 24 hours if not check spam/junk mail folders)   
  -  Login using your email and password you created to access your account
After you have registered an account you can send a linking request anytime to your students’ school, for information on this visit ‘How do I add or link a child to my account?’ ?’  

Sign up via your Child's School
You can also visit your students’ school and let the office administrator know that you wish to sign up for a My Family Room account. You will be asked to provide photo identification to validate your identity, and a valid email address to which your My Family Room account activation details will be sent.   
  -  Complete account registration by clicking on activation link in email sent to the email address you  provided (email should arrive within 24 hours if not check spam/junk mail folders)  
  -  Click the Login button 
  -  Complete your registration by clicking on the Social Media buttons or by using your email and a unique password

Does my partner need an account for My Family Room if I have one?  

You and your partner do not need to have separate accounts, however, you may find having your own accounts beneficial.  

With individual accounts, each of you can customize your contact preferences for communication coming from the Board or your children’s school
