Are Online Forms Legally Binding?
When electronic permission forms are “accepted” online within an online portal that requires the user to authenticate and identify themselves (such as My Family Room), this forms a ‘digital signature’ which is as legally binding as a handwritten signature on a paper form. In fact, one could argue that a digital signature is more secure because it cannot be forged, unlike a signature on a paper form.
